Q. How many students participate in StRUT? A. Over the course of the school year, approximately 250 students participate in StRUT, with this number increasing each year. Q. Is StRUT a non-profit organization? A. Yes. StRUT is a program managed by Columbia Gorge Education Services District (www.cgesd.k12.or.us). Columbia Gorge Education Service District is a service organization whose mission is to provide support services to K-12 public schools in Hood River and Wasco Counties. StRUT is a non-profit educational program, serving public education in Oregon and Washington. Q. Are donations tax deductible? A. Donations to StRUT are tax decutible, but please verify with your tax advisor. If you need a reciept for your donation, please request one at the time the donation is made. Q. Is there a charge to drop off the equipment? A. The only charge is for monitor recycle, which is $10.00 per monitor, everything else is free. Q. Does StRUT pickup donations? A. StRUT does have a truck that provides pick ups and drop offs of equipment and donations. However, there is a requirement of at least 10 pallets. Although, all requests are considered, the first priority will be whether or not the request will benefit the program. Q. Where does StRUT receive its funding? A. StRUT is supported by StRUT members, recycling revenue, and also from grants from Intel Corp. and the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
