November 17th - TearDown Party PDF Print E-mail

StRUT hosted a TearDown Party at the StRUT warehouse. This was the first time StRUT held this type of event and the turnout (51 participants) was greater than we anticipated. The purpose of this event was to help StRUT catch up on the recycling of 1,500 computers that have been staged behind the building since summer. This estimate does not include the inventory stored on inside the warehouse for distribution to schools. At the end of the day, 26 pallets of computers broken down for recycling or 16,000 pounds of recycle sent to Metro Metals. Google, also, participated in this event by sponsoring lunch, providing personnel to participate in the break down process, and provided “swag” for giveaways.
